Bell is a member of the Upper Sandusky High School and Ohio Northern University Hall of Fames.

She is most well-known for her 34-year coaching career at the helm of the Upper Sandusky girls basketball program but also coached softball and track and field briefly at USHS and was a basketball and softball player at Ohio Northern.

As coach of the Rams, Bell finished with a 538-207 record from 1973-2008. Her teams won 10 Northern Ohio League, 21 sectional, eight district and three regional championships. The 1995-96 team finished as the state runner-up, losing the championship game in overtime. Upper Sandusky lost in the state semifinals in 1982 and 1991. Under her guidance, the Rams had only two losing seasons and won 20 or more games nine times.

Bell was the District 6 Coach of the Year eight times, coached in the North-South Game in 1983 and was the state coach of the year in 2002.

In Bell’s four years as USHS softball coach, the Rams won a district championship, and she led the school to an NOL title once during her three years as track and field coach, taking athletes to the state meet all three years.

With the Polar Bears, Bell lettered in softball four times. ONU won the state championship in the first year of its inception by beating Ohio State in the finals in 1973. She lettered three times in basketball, with the Polar Bears losing to Ohio State in the state semifinals one season.

In addition, Bell played for 15 years with the Celina Suns fast-pitch softball team in the Michigan/Ohio League, winning four state championships, three regional championships and three times playing in the national tournament.
